Description

The BS5163 Rising Stem Gate Valve is a robust industrial valve designed for reliable isolation in piping systems. Featuring a rising stem design (Outside Screw & Yoke), it provides clear visual indication of the valve position (open or closed). Constructed with a cast iron body and brass/stainless steel sealing surfaces, it is suitable for water and steam applications up to 120°C. For larger sizes (DN250+), the body is upgraded to Ductile Iron for enhanced strength.

Technical Specifications:
  • Nominal Diameter (DN): DN50 – DN300
  • Nominal Pressure (PN): 1.6 MPa (PN16)
  • Test Pressure (Shell/Strength): 2.4 MPa
  • Test Pressure (Seal): 1.8 MPa
  • Suitable Temperature: ≤ 120°C
  • Applicable Medium: Water, Steam

Key Product Features:
  • Visual Position Indication: The rising stem design allows operators to easily see if the valve is open or closed from a distance.
  • Durable Sealing: Metal-to-metal sealing with Bronze or Stainless Steel rings ensures long service life and resistance to wear, suitable for steam applications up to 120°C.
  • Heavy Duty Construction: Standard cast iron body for smaller sizes, upgrading to Ductile Iron for larger diameters (DN250+) to handle higher mechanical stresses.
  • Low Friction Operation: The stem nut is made of bronze to reduce friction and ensure smooth handwheel operation.
