Description
The API 6D Cast Steel Ball Valve is a robust floating ball valve designed primarily for low-to-medium pressure service with a flexible temperature range. Featuring a cast steel body and flanged end connections, this valve is engineered for reliable on/off switching and light throttling applications. The floating ball design utilizes medium pressure to press the ball against the outlet seat, ensuring a tight seal. Available in full or reduced bore with manual lever or gear operation, it is a versatile solution for oil, gas, and water pipelines.
Technical Specifications:

Key Product Features:
- Floating Ball Design: The ball is supported by two valve seats; under medium pressure, the ball shifts slightly to press against the outlet seat, ensuring a reliable seal.
- Low Flow Resistance: Full bore options provide unrestricted flow with minimal pressure drop.
- Safety Features: Includes fireproof design, anti-static device, and anti-blowout valve stem for enhanced operational safety.
- Versatile Seating: Available with soft seats (RPTFE) for bubble-tight shut-off or metal-to-metal seats for high-temperature applications.
- Low Emission Options: Optional spring packing and stem lengthening design available to meet ISO 15848 low-emission requirements.
- Easy Operation: Lightweight construction with lip-type valve seats allows for easy opening and closing with minimal torque.
Applications:
Ideal for general Oil & Gas, Water Supply, and Petrochemical applications. Due to its low pressure rating and compact size, it is primarily used for switching (on/off) applications and light throttling duties in pipelines requiring reliable isolation.
